“As a teenager, I realized the importance of having a safe third place beyond school and home to learn and socialize. Non-profits like For Youth Initiative are at the core of providing a welcoming environment for programming and capacity-building for young people. Through my work as a grassroots organizer, I want to continue giving back to local youth, supporting equitable resource mobilization, and helping connect them to opportunities for growth and empowerment. Young people must be part of local narratives to create change in our communities, and we must help them foster that leadership. I’ve spent over 13 years working and volunteering in politics, including 6 years at Toronto City Hall, where I prioritized youth issues at a policy level. My tool chest includes project and team management, campaign direction, and public relations for progressive causes and candidates.”
