In the 2022-2023 fiscal year:
770 unique clients were served, 690 were new clients
94% of youth participants identified as racialized and 56% identified as Black
33% of youth participants identified as newcomers to Canada
Since 1995, For Youth Initiative has been committed to supporting and equipping Black, racialized and newcomer youth with the tools and mentorship to navigate the unique barriers and challenges they face as they transition to adulthood. We walk alongside the emerging leaders of the York South-Weston and Oakwood-Vaughan communities - our youth - providing inclusive year-round programs and services that are responsive to each young person’s individual journey and needs.
