FYI’s Volunteers are the Life of our Organization!

FYI attracts a program focused volunteers and student placements as well as a large range of highly skilled volunteers from various professional backgrounds such as those from the financial and legal field, government employees, non-profit management staff, etc. These individuals play a critical role in building the capacity of the organization at the board, fundraising, scholarship and risk management committees and programming level.

 

Our Volunteer Process

1. Fill in the appropriate volunteer application form (above)  and submit  the application along with a resume  and email it to volunteer@foryouth.ca

2. Based on the skills of the applicant the Director of Community Engagement and Communications (DCEC) will interviews applicants

3. The DCEC connects with program & services managers/directors to assess if the candidate can support their program. If there is a need for the support then the Program Coordinator/manager will follow up with the candidate within 2 weeks to finalize the process.

4. A timesheet is provided to the Volunteer on the first day and all hours need to be recorded and signed off by the supervisor on a daily basis. This is the responsibility of the volunteer. An orientation will be provided on the first day as well.
